John D. Ellison
John leads RQA's investment operations and is responsible for the oversight and management of the firm’s strategies and portfolios. Prior to founding RQA, John spent five years executing mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity capital formation and financial valuation assistance in the Healthcare and Wellness and the Media and Communications industry groups at Matrix Capital Markets Group and on the Energy and Power sectors at Ewing Bemiss & Company. John began his career in Keiter Stephens’ Business Valuation, Litigation and Forensic Services Group, and then went to work as an Equity Research Analyst in the Energy and Infrastructure Group at BB&T Capital Markets, where his research team was awarded the 2013 Financial Times’ Starmine Awards for #1 Top Stock Pickers and #2 Top Earnings Estimators.
John is a CFA Charterholder, member of the CFA Institute, and a graduate from the College of William & Mary with a Bachelors degree in Finance.
Andrew S. Holpe
Andrew leads strategy research and development and oversees the risk management policies across RQA's strategies. Prior to founding RQA, Andrew spent six years executing mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity capital formation and financial valuation assistance as a senior investment banker with KPMG Corporate Finance. During his time at KPMG CF, Andrew led deal execution efforts on more than 30 transactions within the energy and power sector. Andrew was also actively involved in the principal investing activities at Turning Basin Capital where he aided in financial due diligence and deal execution. Andrew started his career working within a Think Tank as a quantitative analyst for Redwood Analytics, a business intelligence software provider.
Andrew is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where he received a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and a Masters of Science in Finance.
